Bridges Security Access Update

The Bridges Security and Audit Compliance group recently surpassed the 1,200 mark for active security roles used in myUFL and other data management systems.

Dave Gruber Named Interim Director, Bridges
On March 31st, Vice President Ed Poppell named Dave Gruber the Interim Director for Bridges. Dave succeeds Mike Corwin, who left for an assistant VP position with the University of Texas-Arlington. Dave, a Gator alum, worked at the university for three years in the early 1990s. He rejoined the UF staff in 2003. Prior to being named Interim Director, Dave served as the Associate Director of Bridges.
Student Financial Warehouse Tuition and Fees Project
Under the leadership of the Office of University Budgets, Bridges recently deployed the Student Financial Warehouse Tuition and Fees Project. This project, a three-month effort, provides the following improved business solutions to the campus community:
1. Class and tuition data is now available in the following query packages:
• ER_SF_Transactions_Package
• ER_SF_Accounting_Line_Package
• ER_SF_XRef_Package
2. New indexes have been created, improving both the prompt and query performance in all Student Financials packages.
3. Updates were done to correct issues with date dimensions included in the SF Payment to Charge Cross Reference , and SF Accounting Line packages.
4. Enhancements were made to several Date queries, including name changes to better reflect the date being represented.

myUFL Portal Upgrade
Bridges performed a PeopleSoft system upgrade on April 24-25, 2009. This upgrade ensures the myUFL systems are current and in compliance with the university's Oracle contract. Upgrading to version 9.0 allowed for incorporation of product maintenance fixes, and for UF to remain on the vendor's customer support cycle.
Please note the following minor changes to the myUFL portal:
1. The portal's Help folder has changed. Outdated how-to simulations have been purged. Instead, there is a new How to Use mUFL menu link. This link points to the myUFL toolkits on the HR website.
2. As in the current version, the myUFL Search field remains on the top right hand corner of the page. However, this seldom-used navigation has been removed: Search > myUFL Search
3. The directions for Authoring and Publishing content to the myUFL pagelets has changed. Updated instructions are posted inside the New User Help pagelet. Anyone needing assistance with authoring and publishing content should email Tracy Gale.
